Kazakhstan President took part in 5th Astana Economic Forum

Kazakhstan President took part in the 5th Astana Economic Forum, Tengrinews.kz reports from the Palace of Independence. This year’s agenda of the 5th Astana Economic Forum includes three sections: financial capital and global economy, industrial-innovative development, sustainable development and global social situation. The forum will include 50 different events. Open discussions will be attended by former and incumbent presidents of countries, 25 incumbent and former ministers, businessmen, 12 Noble prize-winners, as well as heads of international companies. Several policy agreements and memorandums will be signed during the forum. 50 agreements totally worth at least $2 billion are ready to be signed as well. The 25th plenary meeting of Kazakhstan President’s Council of Foreign Investors was held the day before the Forum. Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested to foreign oil and gas companies to develop Kazakhstan’s alternative economy in repayment for the rights to develop natural resources. The President also told foreign investors about the prospects of Kazakhstan tourism. Nursultan Nazarbayev also held several meetings prior to the Forum. Chairman of Russia’s Sberbank German Gref told the President about the bank’s intention to become one of the key financial institutions in Kazakhstan. By Assel Satayeva
